The Vauxhall VXR8 2011 - in Holden clothes
With the Goodwood Festival of Speed just a few weeks away, we’re going to get a fair few car makers letting us know what goodies they’re taking to the show. Today it’s the turn of Vauxhall. Probably the most interesting is the first appearence of the 2011 Vauxhall VXR8 in the Goodwood First Glance/Supercar Group.
AN APPEAL has been made to drivers in the UK not to touch a drop of alcohol if they are going to drive. The call comes as data from the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) shows that one in fifteen drivers breath-tested were over the legal limit. Road safety charity Brake has made the plea after figures released by ACPO shows that its national anti-drink-drive campaign in June carried out 63,688 breath tests and 4108 proved positive for excess alcohol or refused a breath test.
2011 Los Angeles Auto Show Roundup
This week saw the start of the Los Angeles Motor Show, so we thought we’d have a quick look at what was on the floor, including some of the stuff we haven’t already looked at. There was the ‘cool in white’ Jaguar stand and the latest Defender DC100 Concept, all prettied up in baby blue. There were Camaros and Mustangs, the new Bentley GTC (but no V8 – that’s for Detroit in January), a hot Beetle R and Volvo’s You Concept that points the way to the next generation of Volvo design.
